Flame The last words of the predestined to die,Flame by ~devious-onigiri
so sparse and curt;
apologetic, regretful.
Every feeling reaching its finality,
every second, minute, hour-
all the days and years that have piled on in the short period allowed.
Wonderful, wretched, even ghastly;
The extinguishing of the burning flames
persisting even in our farthest memories.
We turn away from the clock
thinking it can turn back,
that we can always come back, relive it; fix things so they become better.
But plans go astray-
time leads us down the path we place our foot upon;
The souls we've met, the ones we've bonded with
follow us as if ghosts-
Although we're force
